Hikkaduwa is a coastal town in Sri Lanka's Galle district. Hikkaduwa is a popular tourist destination in Sri Lanka, known for its beaches and coral reefs. It is in the Southern Province, about 17 kilometers (11 miles) north of Galle and 98 kilometers (61 miles) south of Colombo. Despite significant development in the last decade, it is still home to the endangered and endemic purple-faced langur, a shy monkey species found only in the forests of Sri Lanka.
