Coconut Tree Hill is a lateritic headland near the Indian Ocean in Mirissa, Sri Lanka. It is a renowned tourist site in the country and is situated on a rocky outcrop with a coconut plantation. Despite being on privately held territory, Coconut Tree Hill is one of Sri Lanka's most Instagrammed sites. In his book, A Visit to Ceylon, Ernst Haeckel depicted Mirissa's "red cliffs" in the sunset in 1881, describing how "they seem to burn like coal...". Tourists have recommended the hill as a site to see the dawn. The hill is situated on Mirissa beach, which is connected to Weligama by the Weligama bay. One of the "secret beaches" is Mirissa Beach.
